Modifications, which are major changes in the BST or the testing conditions surrounding the BST, are available to students with an IEP. Decisions to make a modification can only be made by the student’s IEP team, and must be documented on the IEP. Some modifications are lowering the passing standard (e.g., a score less than 600), or changing he test or test conditions in a way that would make the test easier. A modification may not compromise test security.
