Mediation
School districts and parents are encouraged to resolve disputes about special education through mediation. The following conditions are required for mediation.

Mediation of a dispute resolution must be agreed to by both parties.

Mediation must not be used to unilaterally delay or deny a parent’s right to a due process hearing.

All discussion involving or concerning the contents of a mediation must remain confidential and must not be permitted as evidence in a due process hearing
