ECSE UDL Communication Initiative

TO:            ECSE Teachers and Related Service Providers of Students Aged 3-5 Years Old

The goals of the ECSE UDL Communication Initiative are for teaching teams to learn strategies and activities that offer successful learning experiences for young children with diverse abilities and styles.  In this project, teaching teams will focus on raising student achievement of communication standards through utilizing universally designed classroom tools and strategies.

This initiative is open to all ECSE programs for children aged 3-5 years old including self-contained and inclusion sites.  Interdisciplinary teaching teams are encouraged to apply together, but individuals may also apply.  The application deadline is December 7, 2009.

Attached is more information about the initiative, the UDL Communication Toolkit and the application form. There is an opportunity for 15 teaching teams to be accepted into this initiative.
